Fit@Home

The Department of Community Development launched Fit@Home, a free online workout series that encouraged the community to lead a healthy, balanced lifestyle while at home.

The fitness programme, a collaboration between several government entities, offered fun, simple physical exercises that could be seamlessly integrated into daily work and life routines.

Developed by the Department of Community Development in collaboration with several Abu Dhabi government entities, Fit@Home aimed to encourage the community to lead a healthy and balanced lifestyle while at home.

Initiative impact

  • More than 29 virtual fitness challenges were introduced across three categories:
    - Running 84%
    - Cycling 11%
    - Mixed workouts 5%
  • More than 11,500 participants across the UAE
  • The average exercise time per person increased fivefold during Ramadan 2020, compared to Ramadan 2019

Digital Learning for All

Launched by the Abu Dhabi School of Government, Digital Learning for All offered every UAE citizen and resident complimentary access to more than 4,000 online courses from 190 of the world's top academic institutions. The programme aimed to equip learners with the tools to navigate evolving market conditions.

Participants earned international certificates and degree qualifications in a variety of fields such as business, health, technology, data science, artificial intelligence, and the arts.

The initiative was later expanded to include free professional certifications offering a total of 44 professional qualifications from internationally accredited institutions such as the CFA Institute and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

  • More than 169,000 participants enrolled
  • 1,022,414 lessons completed
  • 874,655 learning hours completed
  • 5,614 courses offered
  • 54,289 certificates attained
